Solar Power Plant of PT Central Omega Resources Tbk Begins Operations
Jakarta, September 30, 2026 - PT Central Omega Resources Tbk (the "Company") hereby announces that the Solar Power Plant (Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Surya / "PLTS") located in the mining area of PT Mulia Pacific Resources in North Morowali Regency has officially commenced operations. The PLTS was inaugurated on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, by the Regent of North Morowali, Mr. Delis Julkarson Hehi.
In his address, the Regent of North Morowali, Delis Julkarson Hehi, expressed the North Morowali Regency Government's support for the utilization of renewable energy in mining operational activities. The Regent stated that the off-grid hybrid PLTS with a capacity of 256 kWp, equipped with a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) of 251 kWh, is the first solar power plant utilized in mining operations within North Morowali Regency. According to him, the use of solar energy represents an effort to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and promote the adoption of new and renewable energy across the North Morowali Regency area.
Andi Jaya, Operations Director of the Company, stated that the operation of this PLTS marks the initial phase of utilizing renewable energy to support the Company's operational activities and meet internal electricity demand at the site. "The operation of this PLTS aligns with the Company's commitment to delivering lower-emission mining operations and supporting the establishment of a responsible nickel supply chain. With this PLTS in operation, the Company is estimated to reduce carbon emissions by up to approximately 344 thousand kg per year," said Andi Jaya.
The PLTS was constructed by PT Xurya Daya Indonesia (“PT Xurya”), an experienced solar power developer in Indonesia that is not an affiliated party of the Company. In its operation, the Company collaborates with PT Xurya to utilize the generated electricity through a system/infrastructure provision and lease scheme, rather than electricity buying and selling. Going forward, the Company will continue to evaluate the utilization of renewable energy by taking into account technical, operational, economic aspects, and the Company's energy requirements.
